    Recognize the Galion City Schools Food Service Department at all buildings (3rd year in a row), as well as the Galion Booster Club – Baseball Concession, Galion Booster Club – Football Concession and the Galion Booster Club –High School Concession (2nd year in a row), for receiving the Clean Plate Award  presented by the Galion City Health Department, as attached:

    • Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $3,000.00 from Avita Health Systems to Galion City Schools Athletics for the purpose of providing training room equipment and plyo-boxes.
    • Recommend to accept a donation of laminated casework from Cooper Enterprises, Inc. of Shelby, OH for the Summer Lunch Bus. The value of the donation is worth $4,200.00.
    • Recommend to accept a donation of steel from Covert Manufacturing, Inc. of Galion, OH for the Summer Lunch Bus. The value of the donation is worth $720.00.

    6. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    6.1 Certified Assignments
    • Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one-year teaching contract to Ayako N. Hampton, Kindergarten Teacher, effective with the 2018-2019 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule for the 2018-2019 school year as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.

    6.2 Classified Assignments

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Dustin Edgell, Middle School Custodian, effective April 16, 2018.


    6.3 Classified Substitute Assignments

    Recommend to approve the employment of the following classified substitute personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year:

    7. AGREEMENTS

    7.1 MKC Associates, Inc. Project Agreement

    Recommend to approve a standard form of agreement between the Galion City School District Board of Education and MKC Architects, Inc. for the purpose of providing architectural and design firm services for the bus garage and soccer field project, as attached:


    7.2 Front & Center Turf Agreements
    • Recommend to approve a one-year agreement with Front & Center Turf for providing maintenance services on the varsity soccer field and the main football practice field, as attached.
    • Recommend to approve a two-year agreement with Front & Center Turf for providing maintenance services on the varsity athletic fields, as attached.

    7.3 2018 Galion Youth Baseball/Galion Graders Agreement

    Recommend to approve an agreement between the Galion Board of Education and Galion Youth Baseball/Galion Graders for the 2018 season, as attached:


    7.4 2018-2019 NOVA Agreement

    Recommend to approve a one-year agreement between the Galion Board of Education and NOVA, for the purpose of administering instructional services and materials related to virtual learning, as attached:  


    7.5 Addendum- Mount Vernon Nazarene- Exchange of Services Agreement

    Recommend to approve an exchange of services agreement between the Galion City School District and Mount Vernon Nazarene University for the purpose of providing field and student teaching experiences, effective May 1, 2018 until terminated, as attached:


    8. 2017-2018 DISTRICT CALENDAR REVISION

    Recommend to approve the attached 2017-2018 revised District Calendar. Revisions include adding a staff professional development day on May 11, 2018 and removing a previously scheduled 2-hour delay on May 16, 2018.


    9. TITLE I - ANNUAL NOTICE

    The Galion City School District Board of Education enhances the educational program for educationally disadvantaged students with the use of federal funding. Title I funding ensures that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on Ohio's challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. A complete copy of Galion's Title I Services Policy 2261, Parents Participation in Title Programs Policy 2261.01, and Parent's Right to Know Policy 2261.02 are linked below.


    10. BREAKFAST & LUNCH PRICES 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR
    • All student breakfasts with milk:  $1.30
    • High School & Middle School lunch with milk:  $2.85
    • Primary School & Intermediate School lunch with milk:  $2.70
    • All students reduced breakfast:  $.30 
    • All students reduced lunch:  $.40
    • Adult breakfast with milk:  $1.60
    • Adult lunch: $3.50

    11. RESOLUTION- NON-RENEW SUPPLEMENTAL/EXTRA-DUTY CONTRACTS

    Recommend to approve the non-renewal of all individuals holding a supplemental or extra-duty contract with the district at the conclusion of the 2017-2018 school year.


    12. MOU- GEA- OHIO SCHOOL COUNSELORS EVALUATION

    Recommend to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Galion Board of Education and the Galion Educational Association regarding Ohio School Counselors Evaluation (OSCES), as attached:


    13. MOU- GEA- OBSERVATION/EVALUATION- OTES TEACHERS

    Recommend to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Galion Board of Education and the Galion Educational Association regarding Observation/Evaluation- OTES Teachers, as attached:


    14. RESOLUTION- NCSC LIBERAL ARTS ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

    Recommend to approve a resolution by and between the Board of Education of Galion City Schools and North Central State College to offer an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts program on the campus of Galion City Schools, as attached:

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
