3.5 *Approval to Utilize Commercial Paper as Approved Asset Class

In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 135.142, the Board of Education of the Galion City Schools herby adopts approval to utilize Commercial Paper as an approved asset class within the District’s investment portfolio. The Treasurer must have completed the additional training per state law to purchase such securities. All Commercial Paper purchased must follow the below guidelines: Commercial paper notes issued by an entity that is defined in division (D) of section 1705.01 or division (E) of section 1706.01 of the Revised Code and that has assets exceeding five hundred million dollars, and to which notes all of the following apply:

(i) The notes are rated at the time of purchase in the highest classification established by at least two nationally recognized standard rating services.

(ii) The aggregate value of the notes does not exceed ten per cent of the aggregate value of the outstanding commercial paper of the issuing corporation.

(iii) The notes mature not later than two hundred seventy days after purchase.

(iv) The investment in commercial paper notes of a single issuer shall not exceed in the aggregate five per cent of interim moneys available for investment at the time of purchase.

Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one-year teaching contract to Katherine Guy, Intermediate School Teacher, effective with the 2021-2022 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 10 for the 2021-2022 school year as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.

Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one-year teaching contract to Olivia Tanner, High School Teacher, effective with the 2021-2022 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 2 for the 2021-2022 school year as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.
