    5. DONATIONS

    5.1 Galion Building and Loan

    Recommend to accept the donation of calculators, worth $1890, from Galion Building & Loan to each Galion Middle School sixth grade student.  This is the twenty-eighth year the organization has made the donation to Galion's sixth grade students.


    5.2 Galion Booster Club

    Recommend to accept a $5500 donation from Galion Booster Club for Basketball Shoot-a-Ways.


    5.3 Galion Education Foundation

    Recommend to accept a $3,425.00 donation from Galion Education Foundation for the following projects/requests:

    Galion Primary School Giving Tuesday 2018 luncheon winner, Lowe Volk Kindergarten Field Trip, Galion Academic Challenge Team and four belt squat machines for Galion Strength and Fitness and Physical Education.

    7. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    7.1 Administrative

    Recommend to hire Allan Fordham effective October 28, 2019 and subsequently accept his resignation as Director of Buildings, Grounds and Transportation, effective November 26, 2019, resulting in 22 work days to be paid by the District.


    7.2 Certified

    Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Linda Wilson, High School Art Teacher, effective end of the 2019-2020 school year.

    Recommend to approve the following personnel as a Galion Primary School Literacy Tutor for the 2019-2020 school year at the rate of $18.00 per hour:

    7.3 Certified Extra-Duty

    Recommend to approve the following Certified Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2019-2020 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    • Tena Eyster - Director of Galion Early College Academy (GECA)
    • Gina Redman - Middle School Yearbook Coordinator
       

    7.4 Classified

    Recommend to approve the employment of the following employee, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2019-2020 school year:

    • Jennifer Butcher - 7 hour Cook position, effective November 11, 2019

    Recommend to approve the employment of Brendan Damron, Crossing Guard, for $10.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week, effective November 11, 2019.

    Recommend to approve the employment of Amber Albert, as a 4 Hour Bus Driver, effective November 18, 2019.


    Recommend to accept the resignation of Ranee Stumpf, Bus Driver, effective November 15, 2019.


    Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position for the 2019-2020 school year:

    • Mary Goss - Substitute Secretary
    • Nancy Barnhart - Substitute Secretary
    • James Adams - Substitute Bus Driver

    7.5 ADDENDUM ITEM Pupil Activity Contract

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Todd Galownia, Girls Basketball Varsity Assistant, effective October 25, 2019.

    Recommend to approve Gary Burdine as Girls Basketball Varsity Assistant for the 2019-2020 school year.


    8. AGREEMENTS

    8.1 Mid-Ohio ESC Media/Public Relations Services

    Recommend to approve the agreement between the Galion City School District and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, effective for the 2019-2020 school year, for the purpose of providing  Media/Public Relation services to the District, as attached:


    8.2 Mid-Ohio ESC Special Services for Non Public School

    Recommend to approve the agreement between the Galion City School District and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, effective for the 2019-2020 school year, for the purpose of providing Speech Language Pathology services, Physical Therapy services and Occupational Therapy services to Galion St. Joseph School, as attached:


    8.3 Central Ohio ESC

    Recommend to approve the agreement between the Galion City School District and Central Ohio Educational Service Center, effective from 11/11/2019 through 6/30/2020, for the purpose of providing professional development and embedded coaching to the Elementary level Kindergarten Teachers and Administrators, as attached:


    9. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

    Recommend to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between Family & Community Services RSVP Program and Galion City Schools for mentoring services, as attached:


    10. RESOLUTION - ADMINSTRATIVE CONTRACT ADDENDUMS

    Recommend to approve a resolution to authorize the issuance of written addendums to the Superintendent's current contract and to the Treasurer's current contract, respectively, with such contract addendums effective August 1, 2019, as attached:


    11. 2019-2020 MIDDLE SCHOOL FIELD TRIP COMPENSATION

    Recommend to approve compensation for the following Certified Staff for accompanying 6th grade students to Heartland Outdoor School in Marengo, OH:

    • Calli Bauer - $240
    • Rachel Gangwer - $240
    • Doris Weals - $240
    • Curt Wiggins - $240
    • Charles Wilson - $240
    • Charles Wilson - $240 - Attended the 6th grade Mohican Outdoor School trip in May 2019, was left off the list for compensation which was Board approved on June 18, 2019.

    12. FIELD TRIPS

    Recommend to approve the following High School trip for the 2019-2020 school year:

    • March 16, 2020 - High School French Restaurant Experience to La Chatelaine in Worthington, OH
