3.3 Superintendent's Recommendations - Administrative

Recommend to approve a per-diem administrative contract for Jessica Berger, Family Engagement Coordinator, effective May 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024, not to exceed 25 days.

 

Recommend to approve a two-year administrative contract effective August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2026 with salary to be based on the assigned position, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position:

  • Sara Lutz - Supervisor of Behavior Support
  • Jessica Berger - Family Engagement Coordinator
  • DiAnna Danner - Transportation Supervisor

3.4 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified

Recommend to approve Brian Kentosh as a Long Term Substitute Teacher, effective for the 2024-2025 school year, to be paid at a rate of $125 per day.

Recommend to accept the resignation of Cheryl Williams, Intervention Specialist, effective at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.


3.5 Superintendent's Recommendations - Classified

Reccommend to correct Item 7.4 of the June 20, 2023 Board of Education meeting, Bus Driver Don Wake was board approved at Step 0 for the 2023-2024 school year, however, the correct step, per the paperwork submitted and approved by the supervisor was Step 1 for the 2023-2024 school year.

 

Recommend to approve the non-renewal of the following individual holding a retire/rehire contract with the district at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year:

  • Bill Hurlow - Bus Driver

Recommend to approve the employment of the following employees, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Bill Hurlow - Bus Driver

Recommend to approve the employment of Glinda Sparks, Bus Aide, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule at Step 3 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Recommend to approve the employment of Brenda Haley, Bus Aide, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule at Step 0 for the 2024-2025 school year.


3.6 Superintendent's Recommendation - Pupil Activity Contract

Recommend to approve the following Pupil Activity Contracts for the 2024-2025 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

3.7 Resolution - Staff Appreciation Week

Recommend to approve a resolution recognizing May 6-10, 2024 as Galion City School's Staff Appreciation Week, as attached:

  • May 13, 2024 - 3rd grade class trip to Buckeye Children's Museum in Mansfield, OH
  • May 20, 2024 - 4th grade class trip to COSI in Columbus, OH
  • May 6 and May 8, 2024 - 5th grade trip to Lowe Volk Park
  • May 9, 2024 - Mrs. Garver's Intermediate School class trip to Alpaca Meadows in Mansfield, OH

3.11 2024 Athletic Summer Camps

Recommend to approve the following Athletic Summer Camp:

  • July 29 - August 2, 2024 - Cross Country Team to attend camp at Northwest Ohio Christian Youth Camp in McCutchenville, OH

3.12 Name Change - Item 3.11 February 20, 2024

Adopt the attached Contract, approved on February 20, 2024, to align tax documents with contract language for Helen S Carroll, also known as Helen S Compton.
