    Recognize Galion City Schools Athletic Department and Athletic Director, Kyle Baughn, as a 2018 recipient of the prestigious "Award of Excellence". The award, a collaboration between the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA), recognizes schools that provide exemplary support and promotion of education-based athletic programming in their school and community.

    4. DONATIONS
    • Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $500.00 from the Galion Booster Club to the Galion City Schools Community Fund.
    • Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $3250.00 from the Galion Booster Club to the Middle School for the Washington D.C. trip and the Mohican trip.
    • Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $30.00 from Christ United Methodist Church Mission Fund for negative lunch balances.
    • Recommend to accept a grant donation in the amount of $769.00 from the Arthur J. Freese Charitable Trust to the Galion City Schools PTO for the purpose of providing a life-size chess set to the Paws on Pawns Elementary Chess Club.
    • Recommend to accept a grant donation in the amount of $3798.00 from the Arthur J. Freese Charitable Trust to the Galion City Schools PTO for the purpose of providing sensory awareness and cause & effect communications equipment for the five multi-handicap classrooms within the district.
    • Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $9,000.00 from the Walter R. Hessenauer Trust to Galion City Schools for the purpose of providing wall mats in the high school gymnasium and for a new Galion Tiger Mascot costume.

    6. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    6.1 Certified
    • Recommend to approve the employment of Callie N. Bauer as an Intermediate School Intervention Specialist, effective with the 2018-2019 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule for the 2018-2019 school year as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.
    • Recommend to approve the employment of Faith N. Aleshire as a High School English Teacher, effective with the 2018-2019 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule for the 2018-2019 school year as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.


    6.2 Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments

    Recommend to approve the following Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2017-2018 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    • Cindy Conner- Head Varsity Cross Country
    • Eric Palmer- Head Varsity Boys Soccer
    • Lynn Sterling- Volunteer Softball Assistant
    • Amy Keller- Volunteer Softball Assistant
    • Correction - Mike O'Leary, Assistant Baseball- Paid (not volunteer coach as approved at May 16, 2017 meeting)

    6.3 Classified

    Recommend to approve employment of the following classified substitute personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position for the 2017-2018 school year:

    • Dianna Danner- Substitute Bus Driver

    7. AGREEMENTS

    Recommend to approve the attached quote and lease purchase agreement from Apple Financial Services-Education Finance for the purpose of continuing the district's 1:1 Technology Program.


    8. HOUSE BILL 512

    Recommend to adopt the attached resolution in opposition to House Bill 512.


    10. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
