    5. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS - PERSONNEL

    Approve the employment of the following personnel contingent upon subsequent receipt by the Board of a satisfactory criminal record check from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Federal Bureau of Investigation as required by law and applicable state certification:


    5.1 Certified Resignation

    Accept the resignation of Leah K. Horne, Social Studies Teacher at Galion High School, effective the end of the 2015-2016 school year.


    5.2 Certified

    Approve the employment of Moira Fodor as a Third Grade Teacher at the Galion Intermediate School, effective September 19, 2016. Salary to be based unon the Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2016-2017 school year.

    Approve Laurie L. Sorrick as an Auxillary Service Program Enrichment Tutor for Title I Reading, K-3 for students at St. Joseph School for the 2016-2017 school year at a rate of $20.00 per hour to be paid from Auxillary Service Funds up to 10 hours per week.

    Approve the following classified substitute personnel, *contingent upon state certification as applicable to position, for the 2016-2017 school year:

    6. FINANCIAL RECOMMENDATIONS

    6.1 Approve Permanent Appropriations

    Approve permanent appropriations for the year ending June 30, 2017 to be submitted to the Crawford County Auditor by October 1, 2016.


    6.2 Approve Amended Estimated Resources

    Approve amended estimated resources for the year ending June 30, 2017 to be filed with the Crawford County Auditor by October 1, 2016.


    6.3 Correction on Elementary School Fees

    Approve the correction to the student school fees for 2 016-2017 school year as follows from the July 21, 2016 Board Meeting:

    Elementary School Fees for 2016-2017

    Grade 4 should have been $30.00 Fee and $10.00 Technology Usage Premium (not $30.00)


    7. BOARD BYLAWS AND POLICIES

    Approve the second read on the Board Bylaw and Policies as attached.


    8. RESOLUTION - FLEXIBLE BENEFITS PLAN AND SUMMARY PLAN DESCRIPTION

    Adopt the following resolution:

     

    Resolved, that the form of amended Cafeteria Plan including a Health Flexible Spending Account and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account effective October 1, 2016, presented to this meeting is hereby approved and adopted and that an authorized representative of the Employer is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver to the Administrator of the Plan on or more counterparts of th Plan.


    9. AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION OF A REAL ESTATE PURCHASE AGREEMENT


    Resolved, that the Board authorizes the President, Superintendent and Treasurer to negotiate a purchase agreement on behalf of the Board for the acquisition of approximately 17.6079 acres of real property located West of Hesby Drive from the Ruth B. Hesby Estate and to execute any and all necessary preliminary documents to effectuate such purchase on behalf of the Board.

     

    Further Resolved, that this Resolution shall automatically be rescinded in the event a purchse agreement is not approved by thie Board at an open meeting within thirty days.  


    10. PARENT TRANSPORTATION

    Approve transportation by school conveyance is impractical for the following student during the 2016-2017 school year; further approve to pay the parent (or guardian) of said student in-lieu of providing such service. Amount to be calculated by the Ohio Department of Education for the 2016-2017 school year and as per section 3327.01 of the Ohio Revised Code:

    11. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:

    _____ a. consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official, or to consider the investigations of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee or "regulated individual"; unless the person being investigated of charges or complaints requests a public hearing;

    _____ b. consider the purchase or sale of public property if the public interest would be hurt by the premature disclosure of the information;

    _____ c. confer with the public body's attorney for the purpose of considering disputes if a court action concerning the dispute is either pending or imminent;

    _____ d. prepare for, conduct, or review negotiations or bargaining sesssions with public employees;

    _____ e. consider matters required by federal laws, or rules, or state statutes to be kept confidential;

    _____ f. consider specialized details of security arrangements if the information could be used for criminal purposes.
