Join Señorita Bollinger for a 5-day learning experience get away to Puerto Rico, 2026! 

 

Travelers will experience cross-curricular, academic locations with an assigned local tour guide. Activities for the trip include: a historical tour of the city, a rain forest canopy zipline adventure tour, an island beach day to snorkel and relax, and a visit to the El Yunque Caribbean National Forest park! This 5-day, 4-night tour includes airfare there and back, almost all meals, and all on-site lodging and transportation. This trip is open to ALL Galion City Schools 8th-12th grade students AND their families. The trip is also open to all Galion City Schools staff!!

3.2 Donations

Recommend to accept the donation of materials, time and personnel that equal the amount of $7200, from KTB Metal Roofing & Exteriors to repair the roof on the Galion Middle School.

Recommend to accept $10,000 from VFW Post 4329 for Civil Air Patrol Summer Camp; Receipt # 251115.


3.3 Superintendent's Recommendations - Administrative Personnel

Recommend to approve a three-year administrative contract for Sara Lutz, Director of Student Services, effective August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028 with salary to be based on the assigned position, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.


3.4 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Personnel

Recommend to accept the resignation of Ben Wiggins, Intermediate School Teacher, effective with the end of the 24-25 school year.

Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Bridget Dillinger, Middle School Teacher, effective August 14, 2025.

Recommend to accept the resignation of Chelsea Harbolt, Elementary Teacher, effective with the end of the 24-25 school year.

Recommend to accept the resignation of Nate Hall, High School Teacher, effective with the end of the 24-25 school year.

Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Kim Chandler, Primary School Teacher, effective with the end of the 24-25 school year.

Recommend to approve the non-renewal of the following certified individuals holding a one year Retire/Rehire Contract with the District at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year:

  • Bruce Weirich

Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one contract to Kayden Caudill, Intermediate School Teacher,  effective for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 0 for the 2025-2026 school year, as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.

Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one contract to Nicole Watkins, Middle School Teacher, effective for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 5 for the 2025-2026 school year, as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.

Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one contract to Erika Moses, High School Teacher, effective for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 4 for the 2025-2026 school year, as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.


3.5 Superintendent's Recommendations - Classified Personnel

Recommend to accept the resignation of Adam Lehman, Educational Assistant, effective April 17, 2025.

Recommend to approve the non-renewal of the following individual holding a retire/rehire contract with the district at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year:

  • Bill Hurlow - Bus Driver

Recommend to approve the employment of the following employees, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • Bill Hurlow - Bus Driver

Recommend to approve employment of Zachary Fuhrer, Bus Driver, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule at Step 0 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position, for the 2024-2025 school year:

  • Isabella Evak - Substitute Educational Assistant
  • Kevin Biederman - Substitute Bus Driver
