3.2 Donations

Recommend to accept 132 TI calculators for the benefit of GMS 6th grade students valued at $1,709.40 from Galion Building and Loan. This is the 33rd year GBL has donated calculators to our students.


3.3 Superintendent's Recommendations - Classified Personnel

Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position, for the 2024-2025 school year:

  • Matthew Husbands - Substitute Bus Driver
  • Emma Maguire - Substitute Educational Assistant

3.4 Superintendent's Recommendations - Extra Compensation for Certified Employees

Recommend to approve compensation for the following Certified Staff for accompanying 6th grade students to Heartland Outdoor School:

  • Rachel Gangwer - $350
  • Bridget Dillinger - $350

3.5 Superintendent's Recommendations - Substitute Teachers

3.6 January 2025 Organizational & Regular Meetings

Recommend the Board set the date of the Organizational Meeting of the Galion City Board of Education for Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Galion Middle School Computer Lab.

Recommend the Board set the date of the Regular Board of Education meeting for January 7, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., to take place immediately following the Organizational Meeting on January 7, 2025 at the Galion Middle School Computer Lab.


3.7 President Pro-Tem Appointment

Recommend the Board elect  President Pro-Tem for the Organizational Meeting in January, to lead the meeting until the Board elects a President for 2025.


5. BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOMMENDATION

5.1 Treasurer Employment

Recommend to award Shannon King, a Treasurer Contract effective August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028 and a Consultant to the Treasurer Contract from January 1, 2025 through July 31, 2025.

 

 


6. RESOLUTIONS

Recommend to approve the attached resolution declaring it necessary to levy an additional 5/0 Mill tax levy for the purpose of general permanent improvements and requesting the Crawford County Auditor to make certain certifications, pursuant to sections 5705.03 of the Revised Code.

Recommend to hold a public hearing on the 2025-2026 Galion City schools District Calendar and approve the first reading of the proposed calendar, as attached:

8. EXECUTIVE SESSION

An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
_____a. consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official;
_____ b. consider the investigationof charges or complaints against a public employee,official,licensee,"regulated individual," or student; unless the person being investigated of charges or complaints requests a public hearing;
_____ c. consider the purchase of property for public purposes, the sale of property at competitive bidding,or sale or other disposition of unneeded, obsolete, unfit-for-use propertyif the premature disclosure of the information would give an unfair competitive or bargaining advantage to a person whose personal, private interest is adverse to the general public interest;
