    3.1 August 17, 2021 Regular Board of Education Meeting Minutes

    3.2 Donations

    Recommend to accept $4,000 from the Galion Elementary Parent Teacher Organization for the benefit of Fund 018 (Principal) at the Primary Building and the Intermediate Building.

    Recommend to accept 24 cases of hand sanitizer from the organization Nurses with Purses, owned by Amy Philip and Tia Rupe.

    Recommend to accept $1000 from the Avita Health System's August 14th, 2021 5K run; $500 to the Athletic Department and $500 to the Cross Country Program

    Recommend to accept $300 from the Class of 1976 for the benefit of the Campus Wear Fund.


    3.3 2021-2022 NOVA Agreement

    Recommend to approve a one-year agreement between the Galion Board of Education and NOVA, for the purpose of administering instructional services and materials related to virtual learning, as attached:  


    3.4 Heartland COG/North Central Ohio Computer Cooperative (NCOCC) LAN Management Agreement

    Recommend to approve the agreement between the Galion City School District and NCOCC, beginning July 31, 2021 through June 30, 2022, as attached:


    3.5 Mid-Ohio ESC - Family Engagement Coordinator and Social Worker

    Recommend to approve the contract service agreement between the Galion City School District and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, effective for the 2021-2022 school year, for the purpose of providing a Family Engagement Coordinator and Social Worker to the District, as attached:


    3.6 Mid-Ohio ESC - Title IX Services Agreement

    Recommend to approve the agreement between the Galion City School District and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, effective August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2022, for the purpose of providing services to the District to comply with the Title IX grievance process, as attached:


    3.7 Mid-Ohio ESC - 21st Century Program Management Support

    Recommend to approve the agreement between Galion City Schools and Mid-Ohio ESC, for the purpose of providing 21st Century Program Management Support, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, as attached:


    3.8 Galion Middle School's Spooktacular Event

    Recommend to approve sponsorship and accept donations for Spooktacular, an annual Trick or Treating event held on October 1, 2021  at the Galion Middle School.  This event is a great extension of our school’s character education program, The Leader in Me.  It provides students with opportunities to show leadership, build community relationships, and also make the transition from elementary school easier for students and families.  In order to make the Spooktacular a success, we have reached out to area businesses to be part of this event as sponsors.


    3.9 Fundraiser

    Recommend to approve a fund-raiser for the National Honor Society, selling spirit wear hoodies to all High School students and District staff members.  Proceeds from this fund-raiser will be used to pay for the NHS New Member Breakfast and the21-22 NHS Induction Banquet.


    3.10 Athletic Ads Sponsors

    Recommend to accept sponsorships from community businesses for Athletic ads, as attached.


    3.11 2021-2022 D.A.R.E. Resolution

    WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code, Section 4511.191, (L)(2)(e), currently known as the DUI Law, established the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Grants Fund to be housed and administered by the Office of the Attorney General of Ohio; and

    WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the D.A.R.E. Grants Program is to assist in providing funds to local law enforcement agencies, specifically for the salaries of certified D.A.R.E. officers teaching, or planning to teach, the approved D.A.R.E. curriculum in the local schools; and

    WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Galion City Board of Education to avail ourselves of the opportunities provided by this program and to participate with complete commitment;

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Galion City Board of Education, Galion, Ohio the majority of all members elected or appointed thereto concurring that:

    Section 1: The Galion City Board of Education supports all efforts by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department to pursue funding to implement the D.A.R.E. Program in the Galion City Schools.


    3.12 SPARC Council Career Coach Services Agreement

    Recommend to approve an agreement between the Galion City School District and SPARC Council Services, for the purpose of providing career coach services, effective August 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, as attached:
