    2.1 Momentum Award- Ohio State Board of Education
    Mr. Joe Morabito, Middle School Principal

    Recognize Galion Middle School/Galion City School District as a 2016-2017 "Momentum Award" recipient by the Ohio State Board of Education and the Ohio Department of Education. This elite commendation was granted based upon greater than expected growth at the Middle School level in Reading and Mathematics on the District's 2016-2017 Ohio School Report Card.

    5.1 Galion Building and Loan Donation
    Recommend to accept a donation of calculators from Galion Building and Loan to Galion Middle School 6th Grade. This is the twenty-sixth year the bank has made the donation to Galion's sixth grade students.  

    5.2 Galion Elementary PTO Donation

    Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $4,000.00 from Galion Elementary PTO. This donation will be split evenly between the Intermediate and Primary buildings to be used specifically for student related activities.

    Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Bridget Sutton, Galion Primary School Kindergarten Teacher, effective June 1, 2018.

    Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Bryan Summer, Galion Intermediate School Intervention Specialist, effective September 1, 2018.

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Julia Hoffman, Galion High School English Teacher, effective June 1, 2018.


    7.2 Athletic Extra-Duty

    Recommend to approve the following Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2017-2018 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    8. RESOLUTION- RECOGNIZE INDOOR TRACK & FIELD AS A STUDENT TEAM ACTIVITY WITHIN THE GALION CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

    THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Galion City School District Board of Education hereby recognizes Boy's and Girl's Indoor Track and Field as an authorized student team activity in the Galion City School District for the 2017-2018 school year; 

    FURTHER, the Board requests recognition by the Ohio High School Track and Cross Country Coaches Association thereby permitting the participating students of the Galion City School District to compete in the annual Ohio Indoor Track Meet at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH on March 3, 2018.


    9. RESOLUTION- SUPPORT OF OHIO SENATE BILL 216

    Recommend to adopt a resolution in support of Ohio Senate Bill 216, as attached:
