    4.1 Third Grade Guarantee Update
    Dr. Sandra Powell, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Federal Grants
    • Grade 3 students took the October and March OAA Reading assessment;
    • May 19th selected students took the Terra Nova 3 Reading assessment;
    • July 7th will be the last administration of the OAA for this group of Grade 3 students to pass the state-mandated Third Grade Reading Guarantee.
    • Students are currently taking summer sessions to help prepare them for the July assessment.

    5. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS - PERSONNEL

    Approve the employment of the following personnel contingent upon subsequent receipt by the Board of a satisfactory criminal record check from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Federal Bureau of Investigation as required by law and applicable state certification:


    5.1 Certified - Resignation

    Accept the resignation of Kyle S. Baughn as Middle School 7th Grade Math Teacher, effective the end of the  2014-2015 school year.


    5.2 Certified

    Approve the employment of Angela M. DeGray as a High School Math Teacher, effective the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. Salary to be based upon the Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2015-2016 school year.

    Approve the employment of Stephanie J. Dorsey as a Middle School Intervention Specialist, effective the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. Salary to be based upon the Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2015-2016 school year.

    Approve the employment of Laura M. Gibson as a Middle School 7th Grade Science Teacher, effective the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. Salary to be based upon the Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2015-2016 school year.


    5.3 Classified Resignation

    Accept the resignation of Janice L. Tuscan as Study Hall Educational Assistant at the High School effective the end of the 2014-2015 school year.


    5.4 Classified

    Approve Janice L. Tuscan as High School Library Educational Assistant, effective the beginning of the  2015-2016 school year. Salary to be based upon the Educational Salary Schedule for the 2015-2016 school year.

    Approve the classified recommendations for the Administrative Center Support Staff (12 months) for the 2015-2016 school year:

    5.5 Extra-Duty Resignation

    Accept the resignation of Kyle S. Baughn as Freshman Football Coach, effective the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

    6. FINANCIAL RECOMMENDATIONS

    6.1 Amend Certificate of Estimated Resources for Fiscal Year 2015

    Approve Resolution for Fiscal Year 2015 Permanent Appropriations

    6.4 Fiscal Year End 2015 Transfers

    Approval for the Treasurer to transfer funds as necessary to successfully close the books and records of the District for Fiscal Year 2015, with full reporting and disclosure of Fiscal Year End 2015 closing transfers at the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting in July, 2015.

    7.1 High School Science

    Approve a second read on High School Science: Physical w/ Earth Science, Glencoe/McGraw Hill, 2012 ed., for grades 8 & 9


    7.2 K-5 Science

    Approve a second read on K-5 Science:  Science Fusion, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2015 ed.


    9. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:

    ___X__ a. consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official, or to consider the investigaions of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee or "regulated individual"; unless the person being investigated of charges or complaints requests a public hearing;

    _____ b. consider the purchase or sale of public property if the public interest would be hurt by the premature disclosure of the information;

    _____ c. confer with the public body's attorney for the purpose of considering disputes if a court action concerning the dispute is either pending or imminent;
