Recommend awarding Charlene Parkinson, Treasurer, a contract effective September 30, 2014 through July 31, 2016

 per the treasurer salary range and conditions of the contract.

 


7. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS - PERSONNEL

Approve the employment of the following personnel contingent upon subsequent receipt by the Board of a satisfactory criminal record check from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Federal Bureau of Investigation as required by law and applicable state certification:


7.1 Classified - Resignations

Accept the resignation of Jennyfer Corwin as a 2.5 hour cook, effective September 5, 2014.

Accept the resignation of Freddie Beachy as the Middle School Night Custodian, effective September 5, 2014.


7.2 Classified

Approve the employment of Kimberly S. Monnin as a 2.5 hour Cook; placement to be determined; effective September 15, 2014. Salary to be based upon the Cook Payscale for the 2014-2015 school year.

Approve the employment of Jennyfer Corwin as a 4 hour cook at the Galion Middle School effective September 8, 2014. Salary to be based upon the Cook Payscale for the 2014-2015 school year.

Approve the employment of Freddie L. Beachy as Maintenance, effective September 8, 2014. Salary to be based upon the Maintenance Payscale for the 2014-2015 school year.

Approve the following classified substitute personnel, *contingent upon state certification as applicable to position, for the 2014-2015 school year:

Approve a supplemental contract for Theresa Benedict as Title I Secretary for the 2014-2015 school year.


7.6 Extra-Duty Assignment

Approve Leah Zeisler as Volleyball Assistant Coach for the 2014-2015 school year.


7.7 ADDENDUM ITEM - Race to the Top Technology Coaches

Approve the followin gRace to the Top Technology Integration Coaches to be paid a $2000.00 stipend from the Race to the Top Grant fund:

7.8 ADDENDUM ITEM - District and Building Leadership Team

Approve the following as Building Leadership Team members for the 2014-2015 school year to be paid the contractual rate of $20.00 per hour from Grant funds:

8. FINANCIAL RECOMMENDATIONS

8.1 Approve Permanent Appropriations

Approve permanent appropriations for the year ended June 30, 2015 to be submitted to the Crawford County Auditor by October 1, 2014.


8.2 Health Insurance Premiums

Approve the following Health Insurance Premium Rates as attached effective October 1, 2014. 


8.3 ADDENDUM ITEM - Approve Amended Estimated Resources

Approve amended estimated resources for the year ended June 30, 2015 to be filed with the Crawford County Auditor by October 1, 2014.


9. AGREEMENTS

9.1 Colonel Crawford/Crestline Shared Transportation Agreement #1

Approve a contract with Colonel Crawford School District and the Crestline School District for shared transportation services to provide transportation for students attending St. Peter's, Mansfield, OH, Mansfield City Schools, Richland Academy, and Spectrum for the 2014-15 school year. The transportation services will be divided evenly between Galion, Crestline and Colonel Crawford school districts. Total cost for the services is estimated at $40,514.72 (of which Galion will pay one-third). The funds will be paid from the district's General Fund.


9.2 Colonel Crawford Shared Transportation Agreement #2

Approve a Transportation Agreement with Colonel Crawford Local School District to provide student transportation to the Tomorrow Center in Mt. Gilead, Ohio for the 2014-15 school year. Estimated cost is not to exceed $12,000.00.


9.3 UCAN Counselor Agreement

Approve an agreement with MOESC/SPARC Council /U-CAN to provide a College Access Advisor for the 2014-15 school year at Galion High School. The College Acccess Advisor will provide in-school resources to assist students with career exploration, post-secondary planning and college selection.


9.4 Step By Step Academy

Approve contract with Step By Step Academy, Worthington, Ohio for services provided to a Galion City School District student at the Cardington-Lincoln School District classroom for the 2014-2015 school year.


9.5 RC Therapy

Approve contract with RC Therapy Services Inc. for Physical Therapy Services for the 2014-2015 school year. Physical Therapy services are provided to meet the needs of special needs students as indicated on Individual Education Plans (IEP).


9.6 Occupational Therapy Services

Approve contract with Leanna Rentz for Occupational Therapy Services for the 2014-2015 school year. Occupational Therapy services are provided to meet the needs of special needs students as indicated on Individual Education Plans (IEP).


9.7 K12 Consultants

Approve an agreement with K12 School Consultants, LLC for address verification services for Galion resident students educated elsewhere. Galion City Schools.will pay K12 School Consultants, LLC $550.00 for each student verified to reside outside the district that is currently reported as the financial responsibility of Galion City School District.


9.8 River Valley Local School District

Approve a contract for Galion resident students court placed in the North Central Ohio Rehabilitation residential facility to be educated by the River Valley Local School District.


10. SCHOOL DONATIONS

Accept a $60.01 donation from Target's "Take Charge of Education" Program.


11. PARENT TRANSPORTATION

Approve transportation by school conveyance is impractical for the following students during the 2014-2015 school year; further approve to pay the parent(or guardian) of said student in-lieu of providing such service. Amount to be calculated by the Ohio Department of Education for the 2014-2015 school year and as per section 3327.01 of the Ohio Revised Code:

Riley Wells attending Sacred Heart School, Shelby Ohio

Ayden Foust-Snyder attending Discovery School, Mansfield Ohio

Ava Moots attending Discovery School, Mansfield Ohio

Taylor Campbell attending Mansfield Christian School, Mansfield Ohio (this student also needs retro-approval for the 2013-2014 school year)


12. ADDENDUM ITEM - BOARD OF EDUCATION POLICY, FIRST READ

Approve the attached Board of Education Policy specific to the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System.


13. EXECUTIVE SESSION

Enter Executive Session to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee.


14. Special Education Contracts

Approve contracts for Special Education Coordination services.
