3.1 Board of Education Meeting Minutes

3.2 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Personnel

Recommend to approve a change in placement on the pay scale for  Nicole Watkins, Middle School Teacher, from Bachelors + 24 to Masters, pro-rated and effective the the fourteenth pay of the current contract year, per Article X of the Negotiated Agreement.


3.3 Superintendent's Recommendations - Classified Personnel

Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Guido Lane, Head Custodian, effective April 17, 2026.

Recommend to approve Josh McKee as Head of Maintenance, effective December 29, 2025.

Recommend to approve Christina Parsley as Head Custodian at the High School, effective January 5, 2026.

Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position, for the 2025-2026 school year:

  • Terry Miller - Substitute Bus Driver
  • Tanya Morningstar - Substitute Bus Driver

3.4 Superintendent's Recommendations - Unclassified Support Staff

Recommend to approve Kristina Lawson as Family Advocate, with salary to based upon the position for the 2025-2026 school year.


3.5 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Extra-Duty

Recommend to approve the following Certified Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

3.10 Science of Reading - Stipend Payments

Recommendation to authorize the Treasurer to pay the Science of Reading Stipends of $1,200 or $400 according to the requirements set forth by House Bill 33, of the state operating budget to the staff members who complete the mandatory training.

Recommend to approve the following field trips for the 2025-2026 school year:

High School:

  • January 28, 2026 -  Selected 10th grade students to visit Pioneer Career & Technical Center in Shelby, OH
  • April 26, 2026 - After-prom bus to run from 12:45 am to 4:00 am between GracePoint church, Victory Lanes and Planet 14

3.13 Resolution Authorizing Required Third Grade Assessments in Paper Format

Recommend to approve a resolution allowing the required Third Grade Assessments to be administered in a paper format for the 2026-2027 school year, as attached:


3.14 Galion Public Library Agreement

Recommend to approve an agreement between the Galion City School District and the Galion Public Library, as attached:


3.15 Memorandum of Understanding - GEA & OAPSE Spring Weight room Coordinator

Recommend to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the Galion Board of Education, Galion Educational Association and Ohio Association of Public School Employees regarding the supplemental position of Spring Weight Room Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year, as attached:
