    Recommend to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the Galion Board of Education, Galion Educational Association and Ohio Association of Public School Employees regarding the supplemental position of Yearbook Advisor for the 2023-2024 school year, as attached:


    2.5 GEA & OAPSE - Freshman Football, Varsity Assistant Basketball, Spring Weight Room Coordinator

    Recommend to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the Galion Board of Education, Galion Educational Association and Ohio Association of Public School Employees regarding the supplemental positions of Freshman Football, Varsity Assistant Boys Basketball and Spring Weight Room Coordinater for the 2023-2024 school year, as attached:


    2.6 Mid-Ohio ESC - Title IX Services Agreement

    Recommend to approve the agreement between the Galion City School District and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, effective August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024, for the purpose of providing services to the District to comply with the Title IX grievance process, as attached:


    2.7 2023-2024 Community Counseling & Wellness Centers Agreement

    Recommend to approve the contract services agreement between the Galion City School District and Community Counseling & Wellness Centers for the purpose of providing Licensed Counselor or Licensed Social Worker to District students in need, commencing on or about August 24, 2023 and running through June 4, 2024, as attached:


    2.8 The Impact Group Agreement 2023-2024

    2.9 2023-2024 LEAP Program Agreement

    Recommend to approve an agreement between the Galion City School District and River Education Services, LLC (LEAP), for the purpose of providing day treatment services to students in need, effective the 2023-2024 school year, as attached:


    2.10 Galion Middle School's Spooktacular Event

    Recommend to approve sponsorship and accept donations for Spooktacular, an annual Trick or Treating event held on October 25, 2023  at the Galion Middle School.  This event is a great extension of our school’s character education program, The Leader in Me.  It provides students with opportunities to show leadership, build community relationships, and also make the transition from elementary school easier for students and families.  In order to make the Spooktacular a success, we have reached out to area businesses to be part of this event as sponsors.


    2.11 Fundraiser

    Recommend to approve a "Boo Bash" Dance on October 20, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Middle School students, all proceeds to benefit the Middle School PBIS fund.

    5.1 Certified

    Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Amy Graham, Middle School Teacher, effective May 31, 2024.

    Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one-year contract to McKenna Deskins, Primary School Teacher, effective with the 2023-2024 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 0 for the 2023-2024 school year, retroactive to the beginning of the school year, as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.


    5.2 Classified

    Recommend to approve Heidi Perry as After School Detention and Thursday School Monitor, to be paid per the salary schedule as adopted by the OAPSE #370 Negotiated Agreement.

    Recommend to approve the following Classified Employees as PBIS members, to be paid per the salary schedule as adopted by the OAPSE #370 Negotiated Agreement:

    Recommend to approve the following Off Season Wrestling tournaments for the 23-24 school year:

    • September 30, 2023 - October 1, 2023 - Michigan Grappler Fall Classic at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, MI, transportation of students to be provided by private vehicle, per Board Policy 8660.
    • October 20-22, 2023 -  Super 32 at the Greensboro Coliseum Event Center in Greensboro, NC, transportation of students to be provided by private vehicle, per Board Policy 8660.
