Board of Education Meeting

Recommend to approve the attached auction proposal from Miley Realty and Auction for the liquidation of the property and contents of 828 Edwards Street, Galion, Ohio 

Recommend to approve participation in open enrollment with school districts throughout the State of Ohio for the 2020-2021 school year.

Recommend to approve the following field trips for the 2019-2020 school year:

Middle School:

• May 15, 2020 - 8th Grade incentive trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE GALION CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF CRAWFORD, MORROW AND RICHLAND COUNTIES, OHIO REQUESTING THE AUDITOR OF CRAWFORD COUNTY, OHIO, TO CERTIFY TO THIS BOARD THE ESTIMATED PROPERTY TAX REVENUE THAT WILL BE PRODUCED BY THE RENEWAL OF A TAX LEVY OF SEVEN AND SEVENTY-THREE HUNDREDTHS MILLS AND THE TOTAL TAX VALUATION OF THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT PURSUANT TO R.C. 5705.21 and 5705.03 (B).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE GALION CITY SCHOOL DISRTICT OF CRAWFORD, MORROW, and RICHLAND COUNTIES, OHIO:

1.        THAT this Board hereby determines that it is necessary to levy the renewal of all of a tax outside of the ten-mil limitation for the purpose of current expenses of this school district pursuant to R.C. 5705.21.
2.        THAT this Board hereby requests that the Auditor of Crawford County, Ohio certify to this Board the total current tax valuation of this school district.
3.        THAT this Board further requests that the Auditor of Crawford County, Ohio certify to this Board the dollar amount of revenue, which would be generated annually by the renewal of a tax levy of seven and seventy-three hundredths (7.73) mills for current expenses as authorized by R.C. 5705.21 for a period of five years to be submitted to the electors at an  election to be held on November 3, 2020, being the same day as the General Election.

An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:

_____ e. consider matters required by federal laws, or rules, or state statutes to be kept confidential;
_____ f. consider specialized details of security arrangements if the information could be used for criminal purposes.
