    Approve the employment of the following personnel contingent upon subsequent receipt by the Board of a satisfactory criminal record check from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation as required by law and applicable state certification:


    5.1 Administrative

    Approve Jeri S. Wires as Assistant Treasurer effective starting  September 4, 2012 to be paid on an as needed and per diem basis through September 28, 2012.

    Approve an addendum to the Administrator's Contract between the Board of Education of the Galion City Schools and Joe D. Tucker for the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

    Approve the employment of Cheryl Jason as Student Support Services Specialist for the Galion Intermediate School for a one year contract for the period of August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2014 per the adminsitrative salary range for the position.


    5.2 Certified

    Approve rehiring the following retired personnel for a one-year period at the same step, experience level and degree level held before retiring. The rehired retiree will have a position for one year only and will not receive a second one year contract. The rehired retiree will be entitled to all insurance benefits during the 2012-13 school year:

    Approve rehiring P. Michael Schaffner, retired teacher, for a one-year limited contract at step 10 with the degree level held before retiring. This retiree has the ability to request to return for subsequent years of employment. The retiree will not resume nor be eligible for continuing contract status during any period of employment with the District. The rehired retiree will be entitled to all insurance benefits during the 2012-13 school year.

    Approve Lupe Campo for Crossing Guard at a rate of $9.23 per hour for the 2012-13 school year.

    6. EXTRA-DUTY

    Recommend approving Brian Owens as a Volunteer Football Coach for the 2012 - 13 school year.


    7. AGREEMENT
    Dr. Kathleen Jenney, Superintendent

    Approve an agreement with SPARC Council /U-CAN to provide a College Access Advisor for the 2012-13 school at Galion High School. The College Acccess Advisor will provide in-school resources to assist students with career exploration, post-secondary planning and college selection.


    8. PARENT TRANSPORTATION

    Approve the transportation by school conveyance is impractical for the following student during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 school year; further agree to pay the parent or guardian of said student in lieu of providing such service, amount to be calculated by the Ohio Department of Education for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 school year and as per Section 3327.01 of the Ohio Revised Code:

    10. RESOLUTION - NORTHERN OHIO PIZZA COMPANY
    Dr. Kathleen Jenney, Superintendent

    RESOLVED:

    That this Board hereby authorizes the Galion Boosters Club to enter into a concessions agreement with Northern Ohio Pizza Company to provide a concession trailer and services for the annual Cross Country Festival at Amann Reservoir on September 15, 2012, subject to the following conditions:

    1. That the concession trailer and facilities are inspected and approved by the Morrow County Health Department.

    2. That this Board of Education be listed as a named additional insured on Northern Ohio Pizza’s liability insurance policy.
