    3.1 Board of Education Meeting Minutes

    November 12, 2025 Regular Meeting Minutes


    3.2 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Personnel

    Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale for McKenna Deskins, from Bachelors to Bachelors + 12, pro-rated and effective the the fourteenth pay of the current contract year, per Article X of the Negotiated Agreement.


    3.3 Superintendent's Recommendations - Classified Personnel

    Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position, for the 2025-2026 school year:

    • Carson Early - Substitute Educational Assistant
    • Danielle Toney - Substitute Educational Assistant
    • Zach Fuhrer - Substitute Bus Driver
    • Sue Kindell - Substitute Cook

    Recommend to approve employment of Christina Neel, as a part-time Transportation Aide, effective November 24, 2025.

    Recommend to approve Jason Bash as Bus Mechanic, effective December 8, 2025.

    3.5 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Extra-Duty

    Recommend to approve the following Certified Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    3.6 Superintendent's Recommendations - Pupil Activity Contracts

    Recommend to approve the following Pupil Activity Contracts for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    Recommend the Board set the date of the Organizational Meeting of the Galion City Board of Education for Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Galion High School, Room 127.

    Recommend the Board set the date of the Regular Board of Education Meeting for January 14, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., to take place immediately following the Organizational Meeting, in Galion High School, Room 127.

     


    3.8 President Pro-Tem Appointment

    Recommend the Board elect President Pro-Tem for the Organizational Meeting in January, to lead the meeting until the Board elects a President for 2026.

    4. TREASURER'S CONSENT AGENDA

    4.1 Donations

    Recommend to accept 103 TI calculators for the benefit of GMS 6th grade students valued at $1,436.85 from Galion Building and Loan. This is the 34th year GBL has donated calculators to our students.

    Recommend to accept $2400 from Christ Covenant Global Methodist Church for outstanding senior fees.  RECEIPT 260582

    Recommend to accept $54 from the Dirty Soda Truck as a PTO Giveback.  RECEIPT 260584

     


    4.2 Absence Without Pay

    Approve the following payroll deductions:

    11/20/25 payroll:

    4.3 ADDENDUM ITEM - Parent Transportation

    Acknowledge the transportation by school conveyance is impractical for the following student during the 2025-2026 school year; further agree to pay the parent or guardian of said student in lieu of providing such service, amount to be calculated by the Ohio Department of Education for the 2025-26 school year and as per Section 3327.01 of the Ohio Revised Code

    5.1 * Public Notice - 2026-2027 District Calendar

    Recommend to hold a public hearing on the 2026-2027 Galion City Schools District Calendar and approve the first reading of the proposed calendar, as attached:
