    3.3 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Personnel

    Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale for Skye Carpenter, Primary School Teacher, from Bachelors + 12 to Bachelors + 24, effective with the first pay of the current contract year, per Article X of the Negotiated Agreement.

    Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale for Sara Dick, Intermediate School Teacher, from Masters to Masters + 15, effective with the first pay of the current contract year, per Article X of the Negotiated Agreement.


    3.4 Superintendent's Recommendations - Classified Personnel

    Recommend to approve employment of Kevin Biederman, Bus Driver, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule at Step 0 for the 2025-2026 school year.

    Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position, for the 2025-2026 school year:

    • Brittney Fraser - Substitute Educational Assistant and Substitute Secretary
    • Phillip Parsons - Substitute Bus Driver
    • Madyson Tinch - Substitute Educational Assistant

    Recommend to approve the employment of Melanie Schaffner as Middle School Secretary.


    3.5 Superintendent's Recommendations - Certified Extra-Duty

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Jenny Holt as High School Yearbook Advisor.

    Recommend to approve the following Certified Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2025-2026 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    3.12 Cyber Security Statement

    The Galion City School District will form a cyber security program that follows the NIST and CIS frameworks.  This program will include a cyber security response plan.  All cyber security incidents must be reported to the Ohio Cyber Integration Center within 7 days and the State Auditor withing 30 days.  The District will also amend a policy that forbids us from paying ransomware demands unless the Board passes a resolution explaining why payment is in the best interest of the District.

    6. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE AMOUNTS & RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION & AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY TAX RATES AND CERTIFYING THEM TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR

    WHEREAS, The Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has received the necessary tax information from all political subdivisions for the next succeeding fiscal year commencing January 1st, 2026; and

    WHEREAS, The Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has received from each entity the necessary information to establish said rates; and

    WHEREAS, the Budget Commission of Crawford County , Ohio has certified its action thereon to this political subdivision together with an estimate by the County Auditor of the rate of each tax necessary to be levied by this political subdivision and what part thereof is without, and what part within, the ten mill limitation; therefore be it

    RESOLVED, by GALION CITY S.D. that the amounts and rates, as determined by the Budget Commission in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said County the rate if each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as indicated above, and be it further

    RESOLVED, That GALION CITY S.D. approved said rates on October 8, 2026.
