    Recommend to accept $1,500 from the Galion Boosters Club Prom Account for the Galion High School Prom 2023 (Receipt # 231360)

    Recommend to accept $3,500 from the Galion Elks to pay off the Primary School lunch debt. (Receipt # 231459)

    Recommend to accept $2,562.74 from an Anonymous Donor to pay off the Intermediate School lunch debt. (Receipt # 231350)

    4.3 Apple Device Refresh

    Recommend to approve the purchase of new Apple iPads including cases and cases with key boards for teaching staff, Freshman Class of 2027 and 5th Grade. Devices will be financed through Apple Financial Services, four year payment plan with $1 buyout at the end of the financing term at 0% finance charge.


    4.4 Darlene V Smith Scholarship Award - 2023

    Recommend to approve the 2003 Darlene Smith Scholarship Award amount of $2,000.

    6. * SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    6.1 Non-Renew Retire/Rehire Contracts

    Recommend to approve the non-renewal of all individuals holding a Retire/Rehire Contract with the District at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year, as attached:


    6.2 Non-Renew Supplemental/Extra-duty/Pupil Activity Contracts

    Recommend to approve the non-renewal of all individuals holding a Supplemental, Extra-Duty or Pupil Activity contract with the District at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year, as attached:


    6.3 Administrative Assignments

    Recommend to approve a two-year administrative contract effective August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2025 to Julie Murphy-Theodore as Middle School Assistant Principal with salary to be based on the assigned position, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.


    6.4 Certified

    Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one-year contract to Nate Hall, High School Teacher, effective with the 2023-2024 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 0 for the 2023-2024 school year, as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.

    Recommend to approve the employment and issuance of a one-year contract to Theresa O'Deens, Instrumental Music Teacher, effective with the 2023-2024 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule at Step 3 for the 2023-2024 school year, as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.


    6.5 Classified

    Recommend to approve the non-renewal of the following individuals holding a retire/rehire contract with the district at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year:

    • Bill Hurlow - Bus Driver

    Recommend to approve the employment of the following employees, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Employment terms to be based upon Article 4 of Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Galion City Schools Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2023-2024 school year.

    • Bill Hurlow - Bus Driver

    Recommend to approve employment of the following Classified Substitute Personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position for the 2022-2023 school year:

    • Deborah Musick - Substitute Secretary

    6.6 Certified Extra-Duty

    Recommend to approve Paula Seng as a Home Instruction Tutor for the 2022-2023 school year, at the rate of $20.00 per hour.


    6.7 Pupil Activity Contracts

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Ryan Stover, Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, effective April 13, 2023.


    7. * 2023-2024 ATHLETIC HANDBOOK AND CODES OF CONDUCT

    Recommend to approve the Galion City Schools Athletic Coach's Handbook, Athletic Code of Conduct and Parents & Athletes Handbook for the 2023-2024 school year, as attached:

    Recommend to approve the following High School field trips for the 22-23 school year:

    • April 22, 2023 - 2 students to attend the US History Competition at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH
    • May, TBD - Biology II students to the Columbus Zoo in Columbus, OH

    10. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
