    Recommend to approve the attached auction proposal from Miley Realty and Auction for the liquidation of the property and contents of 828 Edwards Street, Galion, Ohio

    5. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    5.1 Classified

    Recommend to approve the employment of Denise Wright as Secretary II, Transportation Secretary, effective March 2, 2020.  Salary to be based upon the OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

    Recommend to approve the employment of Scott Chase as Bus Driver, effective April 13, 2020, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

    Recommend to approve the employment of Anna Matney as Middle School Educational Assistant, effective March 17, 2020.  Salary to be based upon the OAPSE Local #370 Salary Schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

    Recommend to approve the employment of James Sparks, as Substitute Bus Driver, effective April 13, 2020, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position for the 2019-2020 school year.

     

    5.2 Pupil Activity Contracts

    Recommend to approve the following Pupil Activity Contracts for the 2019-2020 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position.  Salary to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    • James Wilson:  Varsity Softball Assistant
    • Kenneth Fagan:  Freshman Baseball Assistant
    • Mike Stover:  7th/8th Grade Track Volunteer
    • Mike O'Leary:  Varsity Baseball Volunteer
    6. 2020-2021 OPEN ENROLLMENT

    Recommend to approve participation in open enrollment with school districts throughout the State of Ohio for the 2020-2021 school year.

    7. FIELD TRIPS

    Recommend to approve the following field trips for the 2019-2020 school year:

    Middle School:

    • May 15, 2020 - 8th Grade incentive trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH

     

    9. RESOLUTION - TAX LEVY RENEWAL

    A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE GALION CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF CRAWFORD, MORROW AND RICHLAND COUNTIES, OHIO REQUESTING THE AUDITOR OF CRAWFORD COUNTY, OHIO, TO CERTIFY TO THIS BOARD THE ESTIMATED PROPERTY TAX REVENUE THAT WILL BE PRODUCED BY THE RENEWAL OF A TAX LEVY OF SEVEN AND SEVENTY-THREE HUNDREDTHS MILLS AND THE TOTAL TAX VALUATION OF THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT PURSUANT TO R.C. 5705.21 and 5705.03 (B).

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE GALION CITY SCHOOL DISRTICT OF CRAWFORD, MORROW, and RICHLAND COUNTIES, OHIO:

    1.        THAT this Board hereby determines that it is necessary to levy the renewal of all of a tax outside of the ten-mil limitation for the purpose of current expenses of this school district pursuant to R.C. 5705.21.
    2.        THAT this Board hereby requests that the Auditor of Crawford County, Ohio certify to this Board the total current tax valuation of this school district.
    3.        THAT this Board further requests that the Auditor of Crawford County, Ohio certify to this Board the dollar amount of revenue, which would be generated annually by the renewal of a tax levy of seven and seventy-three hundredths (7.73) mills for current expenses as authorized by R.C. 5705.21 for a period of five years to be submitted to the electors at an  election to be held on November 3, 2020, being the same day as the General Election.
    10. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
    __XX___ a. consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official, or to consider the investigations of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee or "regulated individual"; unless the person being investigated of charges or complaints requests a public hearing;

    _____ c. confer with the public body's attorney for the purpose of considering disputes if a court action concerning the dispute is either pending or imminent;
    _____ d. prepare for, conduct, or review negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees;
    _____ e. consider matters required by federal laws, or rules, or state statutes to be kept confidential;
    _____ f. consider specialized details of security arrangements if the information could be used for criminal purposes.
