    4. FINANCIAL RECOMMENDATIONS

    4.1 Major Medical Insurance Rate Premiums

    Recommend to approve the health care related insurance premium rates, effective January 1, 2020 as follows:

    MAJOR MEDICAL Insurance Premium increase of 5.45%

    DENTAL Insurance Premium increase of 7%

    VISION Insurance Premium increase of 0% 


    4.2 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE AMOUNTS & RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION & AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY TAX RATES AND CERTIFYING THEM TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR

    WHEREAS the Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has received the necessary tax information from all political subdivisions for the next succeeding fiscal year commencing January 1, 2020; and

    WHEREAS the Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has received from each entity the necessary information to establish said rates; and

    WHEREAS the Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has certified its action thereon to this political subdivision together with an estimate by the County Auditor of the rate of each tax necessary to be levied by this political subdivision and what part thereof is without, and what part within, the ten mill limitation;

    THEREFORE be it resolved by Galion City School District that the amounts and rates, as determined by the Budget Commission in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and

    THEREFORE be it further resolved that there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said County the rate if each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as indicated above; and

    NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Galion City School District approved said rates on October 15, 2019.


    5. DONATIONS

    5.1 Galion Gridiron Club

    Recommend to accept a $9,771.00 donation from the Galion Gridiron Club for a Storage Building placed in the north end zone of the football field and a $2,000 donation from the Galion Gridiron Club for an End zone camera.


    5.2 Galion Football Parents

    Recommend to accept a $1,500 donation from the Galion Football Parents for an End Zone Camera.

    7.1 Certified

    Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale, per Negotiated Agreement, for Sean Maguire, Galion Middle School Teacher, from Masters + 15 to Masters + 30, effective August 15, 2019.

    Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale, per Negotiated Agreement, for Jamie Maguire, Galion Primary School Teacher, from Masters + 15 to Masters + 30, effective August 15, 2019.

    Recommend to approve compensation for the following Certified Staff for training during the summer:

    • Bobby Gossom - Supply Chain Management Course-Beginner Level, Supply Chain Management Course-Intermediate Level and Supply Chain Management Course-Advanced Level (21 days total) - $150 per day  

    Recommend to approve the following personnel as Literacy Tutors for the 2019-2020 school year at the rate of $18.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week:

    7.2 Extra-Duty Assignments

    Recommend to approve the following Certified Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2019-2020 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    • Gina Redman - Middle School After School Detention

    Recommend to approve the following Teacher Evaluation Committee members for the 2019-2020 school year, per the terms and conditions of the GEA negotiated agreement:

    Recommend to approve the following teachers as after school Math Tutors at the High School for the 2019-2020 school year at the rate of $20 per hour, not to exceed 1 hour per day, two days a week:

    Recommend to approve the following teacher as a Math Intervention & Enrichment Tutor for the 2019-2020 school year at the rate of $20.00 per hour, up to 6 hours per week:

    Recommend to approve Regina Estep as a volunteer Academic Challenge Advisor for the Middle School and High School for the  2019-2020 school year.


    7.3 Classified

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Helen Zealor, Bus Driver, effective October 14, 2019.

    Recommend to approve the following Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2019-2020 school year:

    8. RESCIND MEMORENDUM OF UNDERSTANDING - OAPSE

    Recommend to rescind the Memorandum of Understanding between the Galion Board of Education and OAPSE Local #370 regarding bus driver compensation, which was approved by the Galion Board of Education on September 17, 2019.


    9. RESOLUTION TO DISCUSS ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY PARTNER FOR STUDENT WELLNESS AND SUCCESS FUNDS

    10. 2019-2020 FIELD TRIPS

    10.1 Primary School Trips

    Recommend to approve the following Primary School trips for the 2019-2020 school year:

    • Date to be determined - Preschool Class to Gorman Nature Center.
    • Date to be determined - Preschool Class to Richland Carousel.
    • October 18, 2019 - Free Concert that is connected to state standards at the Mansfield Renaissance Theater for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades.
    • February 24, 2020 - Rosie Revere Performance at the Marion Theatre Palace for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades

    10.2 High School Trips

    Recommend to approve the following High School trips for the 2019-2020 school year:

    • November 5, 2019 - Art Class to the Cleveland Museum of Art.

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
