Crawford Success Center would like to recognize the following students for donating their artwork to the Art for Success Scholarship Event:
The Board of Education acknowledges that Galion City School District Students may participate in a non school district sponsored trip to Costa Rica during the summer on 2020 as presented to the Board in Item 2.2 by Ms. Jenna Bollinger and Mrs. Laura Gibson.
Presenters from the Primary School:
Recognize the Galion City Schools Food Service Department at all buildings (4th year in a row), as well as the Galion Booster Club - Football Concession and the Galion Booster Club - High School Concession (3rd year in a row).
Recommend to accept a $1,465.00 donation from the Softball Parents Club for new athletic uniforms.
Recommend to accept a $250.00 donation from the Wrestling Parents Club for new athletic uniforms.
Recommend to accept a $5,000.00 donation from the Walter R. Hessenauer Foundation for new League Championship Banners to hang in the High School gymnasium.
Recommend to accept $3,400 from the Walter R Hessenauer Foundation for the benefit of Galion City Schools Music Programs to purchase a Clavinova Console Digital Piano.
Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale, per Negotiated Agreement, for Michael Moore, Galion High School Teacher, from Bachelors + 24 to Masters, effective March 25, 2019.
Recommend to approve the extension of the following Long Term Substitute Teacher Contract through May 24, 2019:
Recommend to accept the resignation of Matt Valentine, Head Boys Basketball Coach, effective March 26, 2019.
Recommend to approve the non-renewal of all individuals holding a supplemental or extra-duty contract with the district at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 school year, as attached:
Recommend to approve the Galion City Schools Athletic Code of Conduct for the 2019-2020 school year, as attached:
Recommend to approve the Fan Code of Conduct for the 2019-2020 school year, as attached:
Recommend to adopt the following resolution authorizing membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) for the 2019-2020 school year:
Recommend to approve a resolution recognizing May 6-10, 2019 as Galion City Schools Staff Appreciation Week, and Substitute Teacher Appreciation Week, as attached:
Recommend to approve a resolution allowing the required third grade assessments to be administered in a paper format, as attached:
Recommend to approve an agreement between the Galion Board of Education and Galion Graders Baseball Inc. for the 2019 season, as attached:
The Galion City School District Board of Education enhances the educational program for educationally disadvantaged students with the use of federal funding. Title I funding ensures that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on Ohio's challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. Recommend to approve the breakfast and lunch prices for school year 2019-2020, as follows:
Recommend to approve the following field trips for students in the Primary School:
Recommend to approve behavior incentive field trips, for students in the Intermediate School, to Altitude Trampoline Park in Ontario, OH on May 20, 21 and 22, 2019 for two hours each day, one grade per day.
Recommend to approve the French Class trip, for students in the High School, to Toronto and Niagara Falls on June 3-5, 2019.
Recommend to approve the First Read of the revised Board Bylaws and Policies, as attached:
