    3.1 Major Medical Insurance Premium Rates

    Recommend to approve the Major Medical Insurance Premium Rates, effective January 1, 2019, as follows;

    Major Medical Insurance Premium increase of 11.0%

    Dental Insurance Premium increase of 11.0%

    Vision Insurance Premium increase of 0.0%


    3.2 Five Year Forecast

    Recommend to approve the October 2018 Five Year Forecast


    4. DONATIONS

    4.1 Donation - Galion Community Foundation

    Recommend to accept donation of $300 from the GALION COMMUNITY FOUNDATION for various students who have negative lunch balances.


    4.2 Donation - Anonymous

    Recommend to accept donation of $150 from Anonymous donor for Ms. Prince 5th Grade "Socktober" event.


    4.3 Donation - Galion Baseball Parents Club

    Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $3000 from the Galion Baseball Parents Club for Baseball Field maintenance.

    6. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    6.1 Non-Classified Administrative Support

    Recommend to approve the employment of Elizabeth Rutledge for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year for training purposes, to be paid at her regular daily rate as of September 21, 2018, not to exceed 60 hours. Hours worked will submitted on a time sheet for payroll processing. 


    6.2 Certified

    Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of Judy Cortelletti, Galion Primary School Teacher, effective May 31, 2019.

    Recommend to accept the retirement resignation of John DeNoon, Galion High School Teacher, effective May 31, 2019.

    Recommend to approve the following personnel as Galion Primary School Literacy Tutors for the 2018-2019 school year at the rate of $18.00 per hour:

    • Brooklyn Carter 
    • Bridget Sutton

    Recommend to approve a change of placement on the pay scale, per Negotiated Agreement, for Michael Moore, Galion High School Teacher, from Bachelors + 12 to Bachelors + 24, effective October 11, 2018.


    6.3 Athletic Extra-Duty

    Recommend to approve the following Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2018-2019 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position, per Negotiated Agreement.

    • JT Harris-7th Grade Wrestling Assistant
    • Nick McDaniel- Varsity Wrestling Volunteer
    • Justin McMullen- 8th Grade Boys Basketball Volunteer
    • Matt Jacobs- Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant

    6.4 Classified

    Recommend to approve the employment of Nicole Cichanowicz as Secretary-I at Galion Middle School, effective October 10, 2018.  Salary to be based upon the OAPSE Local #370 Secretary-I Salary Schedule for the 2018-2019 school year.

    Recommend to approve employment of the following classified substitute personnel, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements as applicable to the position for the 2018-2019 school year:

    Substitute Bus Driver

    Jack Wright III

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Sharon Jones, bus driver, effective October 7, 2018.


    7. AGREEMENTS

    7.1 Rock Solid Media, LLC

    Recommend to approve a 12 month agreement between the Galion City Schools and Rock Solid Media, LLC, as attached:


    8. RESOLUTION TO RATIFY ACTION TAKEN TO CONTRACT WITH WEITHMAN BROTHERS INC. FOR THE BUS GARAGE/SOCCER FIELD PROJECT

    Based on the Board's September 6, 2018 acceptance of the proposal from Weithman Bros., Inc. in the total amount of $1,754,000 (base proposal plus $3,100 for Alternate # 2 and $30,600 for a lift gate), the Superintendent contracted with Weithman Bros., Inc.for the Bus Garage/Soccer Field Project, and the Board ratifies the action taken to enter into a contract with Weithman Bros., Inc.


    9. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE AMOUNTS & RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION & AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY TAX RATES AND CERTIFYING THEM TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR

    WHEREAS the Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has received the necessary tax information from all political subdivisions for the next succeeding fiscal year commencing January 1, 2019; and

    WHEREAS the Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has received from each entity the necessary information to establish said rates; and

    WHEREAS the Budget Commission of Crawford County, Ohio, has certified its action thereon to this political subdivision together with an estimate by the County Auditor of the rate of each tax necessary to be levied by this political subdivision and what part thereof is without, and what part within, the ten mill limitation;

    THEREFORE be it resolved by Galion City School District that the amounts and rates, as determined by the Budget Commission in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and

    THEREFORE be it further resolved that there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said County the rate if each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as indicated above; and

    NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Galion City School District approved said rates on October 16, 2018.


    10. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
