    Recommend to accept a donation in the amount of $9,000.00 from the Arthur J. Freese Foundation for the purpose of purchasing a new wrestling mat.

    7. SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS- PERSONNEL

    7.1 Certified

    Recommend to approve the employment of Chelsey J. McChesney as an Intermediate School Intervention Specialist, effective January 3, 2018, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Salary to be based upon the Teacher's salary schedule for the 2017-2018 school year as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement.


    7.2 Classified

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Christi Eckert, High School Secretary I, effective January 3, 2018, with her last day of employment being January 2, 2018.

    Recommend to approve the employment of Richard Beck, Bus Driver, effective January 3, 2018, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the postion. Salary to be based upon the OAPSE Local #370 Bus Driver Salary Schedule for the 2017-2018 school year.


    7.3 Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments

    Recommend to accept the resignation of John Stewart, Varsity Boys Soccer Coach, effective November 29, 2017.

    Recommend to accept the resignation of Brittany McCleese, Varsity Softball Assistant, effective November 27, 2017.

    Recommend to approve the following Athletic Extra-Duty Assignments for the 2017-2018 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position. Compensation to be based upon the Extra-Duty Pay Schedule as defined in the GEA Negotiated Agreement, if applicable:

    8. FIELD TRIPS

    Recommend to approve the Galion High School Varsity Baseball Trip to Minford, OH March 16 & 17, 2018. 


    9. RESOLUTION - LEASE-PURCHASE

    RECOMMEND TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE GALION CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ENTER INTO A GROUND LEASE OF SCHOOL DISTRICT LAND AND FACILITIES, AND A LEASE OF THE SAME BACK TO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, IMPROVING, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING SCHOOL FACILITIES, INCLUDING CONSTRUCTING A NEW BUS GARAGE COMPLEX AND ATHLETIC FIELDS; AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF A GROUND LEASE AGREEMENT, A LEASE-PURCHASE AGREEMENT, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO; AND APPROVING RELATED MATTERS, AS ATTACHED:


    10. RESOLUTION- DESIGN FIRM

    RECOMMEND TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF A DESIGN FIRM FOR A NEW BUS GARAGE AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS FOR ATHLETIC FIELDS, AS ATTACHED:


    11. RESOLUTION- SUPPORT OF OHIO SENATE BILL 216

    Recommend to adopt a resolution in support of Ohio Senate Bill 216, as attached:


    12. BOARD DESIGNATIONS

    12.1 President Pro-Tem Appointment

    Recommend the Board elect a President Pro-Tem for the Organizational Meeting in January to lead the meeting until the Board elects the President for 2018.


    12.2 January 2018 Organizational & Regular Meetings

    Recommend the Board set the date of the Organizational Meeting of the Galion City Board of Education for Monday, January 8, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the Galion Middle School Computer Lab.

    Recommend the Board set the date of the Regular Board of Education meeting for January 8, 2018, to take place immediately following the Organizational Meeting on January 8, 2018, at 6:30 PM at the Galion Middle School Computer Lab.


    13. EXECUTIVE SESSION

    An executive session is requested for one or more of the following matters to:
